Hi, I'm Robby. I built Trovvy.
Trovvy is a passion project; five years in the making, almost entirely nights and weekends. No VC funding, no big team; just one person who cares deeply about pets and the families who love them.
Why Trovvy exists
It started as a simple question: What if there was one place to keep your pet's entire life story?
Photos, behaviors, training progress, vet records, medical timelines, milestones, personality traits; all in one spot instead of scattered across your camera roll, sticky notes, and memory. I wanted a way to capture my pets' lives in full, so their stories could live on even after they're gone.
Trovvy grew from there. I built the family collaboration piece because my household shares pet duties; the verified trainer system because I wanted certifications to actually mean something; the dangerous-items alerts because a friend told me her pup got sick from an uncooked potato and I realized every pet parent deserves that warning.
Every feature has a real reason. Nothing in here is for a growth metric.
My coding partners
When I'm building Trovvy, I'm rarely alone. Poe spends most of his time curled up on my lap while I code; when he's not there, Travis takes his spot. Trovvy was built with a lot of purring in the background.
And the community cats I'm slowly winning over
Two community cats live around my place. They're about halfway to being indoor cats; I'm patient. In the meantime they have autofeeders, heated beds for cold nights, and a can of wet food every morning when I wake up. Spoiled is an understatement.
I track their progress in Trovvy
Here's the part I love: I'm using my own app to log every step Mistoffelees and Kitters take toward being indoor cats. First time inside, first nap on the couch, first full night indoors; all captured as milestones. Five years in, Trovvy is part of my daily routine, not just something I build.
A note from me
I don't post about myself often, but this project means a lot to me. For 5+ years I've been quietly working nights and weekends on Trovvy, and it's finally live.
If you have a pet, it would mean the world if you downloaded it, added your pet, tried a feature or two, and told me what you think. Honest feedback helps the most right now. And if you're up for it, a quick App Store rating helps a ton at this stage.
No pressure at all; but if you've ever loved a pet like family, I built this for you.
